Terms of Service

Last updated: February 14, 2026

1) Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Lexis (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

These Terms are between you and the operator of Lexis (the “Operator”).

2) Description of the Service

Lexis is a reading companion platform that allows you to upload EPUB books, track reading progress, build vocabulary, and use features such as flashcards and translations. The Service may change over time.

3) Eligibility

You must be legally able to form a contract in your jurisdiction to use the Service. If you are under the age of majority, you may use Lexis only with the consent of a parent or guardian.

4) Accounts

To use certain features, you may need an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for activities under your account.

5) User Content

“User Content” includes books and files you upload and the content you create (notes, vocabulary lists, highlights, bookmarks, etc.).

  • Your ownership: You retain ownership of your User Content.
  • License to operate: You grant the Operator a limited, non-exclusive license to host, store, process, reproduce (as needed for technical operation), and display your User Content solely to provide and operate the Service.
  • Your responsibility: You represent that you have the rights to upload and use your User Content.

6) Copyright and Takedowns

Do not upload content that infringes copyright or other rights. We may remove allegedly infringing content and may suspend or terminate repeat infringers.

If you believe content on the Service infringes your rights, contact triangleofalpha@gmail.com with sufficient information to identify the work and the allegedly infringing content.

7) Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • use the Service for unlawful purposes;
  • upload malware or attempt to disrupt the Service;
  • attempt to gain unauthorized access to systems or accounts;
  • scrape or overload the Service;
  • distribute copyrighted material without authorization;
  • create multiple accounts to evade limits or enforcement.

8) Third-Party Services

The Service relies on third-party services for infrastructure, authentication, storage, and translation. Your use of those components may also be subject to their terms and policies.

9) Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, features, and original content (excluding User Content), is owned by the Operator and protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

10) Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not guarantee that:

  • the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free;
  • translations or learning outputs will be accurate or suitable for any particular purpose.

11) Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Operator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of the Service.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Operator's total liability for any claim will not exceed the greater of (a) USD $100 or (b) the amount you paid (if any) for the Service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.

12) Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the Service at any time if you violate these Terms or if necessary to protect the Service or other users. You may stop using the Service at any time.

13) Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes are effective when posted. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the revised Terms.

14) Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in the jurisdiction where the Operator is established, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
